The reaction product Fe(OH)3 is a soft, flocculent material. When it accumulates to a certain extent, backwash water is introduced to flush it away, restoring the initial deoxygenation capacity. This working principle is the same as the traditional steel scrap deoxygenation method. However, since sponge iron is produced using patented technology to form a loose, porous granular material, its surface area is 50,000 to 100,000 times that of ordinary steel scrap. This overcomes the shortcomings of steel scrap deoxygenation, such as unsatisfactory results and the need for periodic acid washing and activation, achieving a simple, practical, efficient, and stable deoxygenation effect.
